Clinical Research Student Positions: Noninvasive Brain Stimulation (NiBS)
Prof. Lorella Battelli, The Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard Medical School
fall 2024

The Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical teaching hospital, is recruiting volunteer research assistants in the laboratory. We expect candidates to be motivated, hold a strong academic record, and be interested in furthering their understanding of neuroscience and NiBS techniques: specifically, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). In our lab, research assistants are also experienced in functional and structural MRI, PET scanning, EEG, and EMG. **Responsibilities**: Research assistants should be prepared to assist with data collection and analysis in a multicenter, international clinical trial. Importantly, RAs will gain valuable knowledge about human cognitive function, brain stimulation methods, experimental design, and data analysis. Current clinical trials are being conducted in patients with degenerative diseases (frontotemporal dementia) and in stroke patients with partial cortical blindness. **Requirements and Expectations**: Previous experience as a research assistant is an advantage, but not required. As a minimum, candidates are required to commit to the lab for one semester (15hrs/week). **To Apply**: If interested, please send a copy of your resume/CV and a statement of interest to Prof. Lorella Battelli: <lbattell@bidmc.harvard.edu> and Julianne Reilly <jreilly2@bidmc.harvard.edu>.
