Graduate students are welcome to apply to help lead MBB’s 2017-2018 undergraduate thesis workshops.

Our thesis program brings together seniors from all MBB tracks who are doing thesis research, to discuss their projects and eventually their findings as well as larger issues of communicating science to various audiences, with an interdisciplinary set of colleagues. MBB has undergraduate tracks in computer science, history and science, human evolutionary biology, linguistics, neurobiology, philosophy, and psychology.

Workshop leaders help schedule and then conduct workshop meetings. Successful workshop leaders will have a background and interest in reporting and discussing research findings across traditional disciplinary boundaries, and an interesting in helping young researchers start to develop these skills. Group leaders must also be able to attend a planning meeting the weeks of 28 August or 4 September and be available for an introductory all-seniors meeting the week of 11 or 17 September. They will then hold several meetings for a smaller group of seniors (usually 8-15), usually 2 meetings in the fall and 3 or 4 in the spring. The MBB office will provide planning and scheduling support. Pay is $400 per semester.
