Research Assistant Positions: Developmental Neuropharmacology

The Laboratory for Developmental Neuropharmacology investigates how early insults change the development of neurocircuits involved in addiction and emotion processing. Interested students would be involved in investigating changes in neuroanatomical circuits, gene expression, and behavior following exposure to drugs of abuse or early life stress. Responsibilities: For students able to commit to ten hours, they would learn how to slice brains, perform immunohistochemistry and quantify neurons, or learn laser capture microdissection and qPCR. Students with more time to commit can be involved in behavioral analyses, including drug self-administration. Requirements: A background in neuroscience, psychology, or chemistry is required.
