Impairment to the neural control of cardiac function can cause several diseases, including arrhythmias and heart failure. Nevertheless, we understand very little about the neural circuits underlying cardiac function. I use whole heart and brain functional imaging with cellular resolution, to study the neural mechanisms and computations underlying cardiovascular homeostatic control in zebrafish.
