Research Assistant Position: Executive Functions in Low- and Middle-Income Countries
Drs. Chika Ezeugwu, Dana McCoy, and Charles Nelson, Graduate School of Education
fall 2024

Executive functions in low-and-middle-income countries: A holistic perspective - The [SEED lab](https://seed.gse.harvard.edu/) focuses on understanding how poverty-related risk factors affect young children’s cognitive and socioemotional skills. The current project focuses on conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies documenting children’s executive function skills and their relationship to academic achievement (broadly construed) in low- and middle-income countries. The goal is to evaluate the existing evidence on this relationship and determine the strength and direction of the relationship between the two variables. **Responsibilities:** The RA will assist with literature search across different databases and will help with extracting key data (e.g., sample sizes, methodologies) from identified studies. **Requirements and Expectations:** Must be able to commit 10 hours per week for the duration of the assistantship. The RA will ideally work on the project for just the fall semester. Alternatively, we are open to candidates who can commit to two semesters. **Additional Information:** The position will be hybrid -- most work will take place remotely, but in-person meetings will be scheduled with the project team to discuss questions and progress. This is an unpaid position, but students may use this opportunity to receive course credit via an independent study with Dr. McCoy. **To Apply:** Please forward your CV and cover letter that explains your interest in the position to [chika\_ezeugwu@gse.harvard.edu](mailto:chika_ezeugwu@gse.harvard.edu).
