Research Assistant Position: Phonetics/Phonology and Co-Speech Gesture

The Harvard Phonetics and Phonology lab is focused on the study of sound systems of human languages. Our main areas of focus are in prosody and rhythm, and we are currently exploring links between speech production and perception with other aspects of motor behavior, including co-speech gestures of the hands and head. Responsibilities: Attending weekly lab meetings; reading some background literature on speech and gesture; coding data on speech and gesture. Requirements and Expectations: Seven hours per week; no experience required, though some background in linguistics is a plus. Additional Information: Course credit possible.
