The Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience (LCN), located on the Longwood Medical Area, are currently looking for 1-2 volunteer undergraduate research assistants to work on a study investigating effects of the exposure to early adversity (biological, environmental, psychosocial) on cognitive development in children of Bangladesh.  The work will take place in the lab in Boston.This project uses electrophysiology, near infrared spectroscopy, behavioral measures, and eye-tracking to collect neurocognitive data on a well characterized cohort of children (infants and toddlers) in the capital city of Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Responsibilities: The study research assistant will be responsible for coding data for behavior, assisting with data entry, and pre-processing physiological data.Requirements: Ability to work with children, familiarity with PC and Mac, self-motivated, enthusiasm for developmental research, interest in global health.  Applicants to this position must be able to commit at least 10-15 hours/week during the summer. Additional Information: Although data collection is solely conducted at the lab in Dhaka, this position will also grant numerous training opportunities to become familiar with testing infants and children at the LCN, learn about the various neuroimaging methods, and become more knowledgeable about data collection in low-income settings.  This position is ideal for anyone considering future graduate study in experimental or developmental psychology, or cognitive neuroscience.
