# Research Intern Positions: Genetics of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) (fall 2025) Research Intern Positions: Genetics of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Dr. Ryan Doan (Division of Genetics and Genomics) and Dr. Anne Arnett (Division of Developmental Medicine), Boston Children’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School fall 2025 Our NIH-funded laboratory investigates the genetic basis of pediatric attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). We use multidisciplinary approaches that combine clinical evaluation of families, genomic sequencing, and functional follow-up to understand how genetic variation contributes to these conditions. Ongoing projects span computational analysis of large-scale datasets, CRISPR-based genome editing, molecular biology, and in vitro and in vivo modeling of gene function and variant effects. **Responsibilities:** (1) Assist with data organization, analysis, and visualization; (2) conduct literature searches and help prepare figures/presentations; (3) participate in wet lab experiments (depending on experience & level of time commitment), including DNA/RNA extraction, in vitro modeling, and high throughput molecular assays; and (4) Contribute to lab meetings and discussions of study design and results. **Requirements and Expectations**: (1) Commitment of at least 2 semesters, >10 hours per week; (2) strong interest in genetics, neuroscience, or psychiatry; (3) coursework in biology, genetics, or related fields preferred; and (4) curiosity, reliability, and enthusiasm are essential. **Additional Information:** This is an unpaid position, but eligible students may apply for course credit (e.g., MBB 90r). Work is in-person at Boston Children’s Hospital (Longwood Medical Area, Boston).
