A full-time Clinical Research Coordinator I (CRC I) will be hired in the Division of Neuropsychiatry and Neuromodulation at Massachusetts General Hospital. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Hamdi Eryilmaz and Dr. Joan Camprodon in innovative research projects investigating the neural basis of cognitive impairment in neuropsychiatric disorders. The techniques used in these projects include EEG, functional MRI (fMRI), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (tES). This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are preparing for graduate (or medical) school and seek to gain experience in clinical/cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging. The coordinator will work with the Principal Investigators on all aspects of the research projects including patient recruitment, coordinating study visits, clinical assessments of participants, EEG and MRI data acquisition, data analysis, assisting with publications. A background in psychology or neuroscience is preferred. Motivated candidates should submit a resume and a cover letter describing their qualifications and career goals. Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include (1) conducting MRI, TMS, EEG, and tES experiments; (2) coordinating recruitment of study patients and participants; (3) organizing behavioral, EEG and imaging data; (4) conducting clinical and neuropsychological assessments; (5) compiling and maintain clinical research databases, patient files, regulatory binders and study databases; (6) performing data quality control and analyses; (7) performing EEG, MRI and behavioral data analyses; and (8) participating in the production of scholarly reports, research abstracts, posters and manuscripts for publication. Please note, the these functions are representative of major duties that are typically associated with these positions. Specific responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Similarly, not all duties that have been outlined will be assigned to each position. Requirements and Expectations: Education: B.A. or B.S. in neuroscience, psychology, engineering or related fields. Experience: Experience in research with clinical populations is preferred. Familiarity with EEG research is preferred. Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required: (1) background in neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science or equivalent is preferred; (2) candidates must be highly organized, attentive to detail and able to work independently; (3) strong interpersonal skills are a must; (4) prior experience with clinical populations is preferred; (5) prior experience in EEG data acquisition and analysis is preferred; (6) excellent writing skills and solid PC or Mac computer skills required; and (7) prior experience with MATLAB and/or R is preferred. Additional Information: Extensive training in neuroimaging, brain stimulation, clinical research, neuroscience and writing skills will be provided. Strong scientific and career development mentoring can be expected, as well as opportunities to publish and present at national conferences. Schedule: Full time, 40 hours weekly, days.
