The Economo Lab at Boston University has an open position for a Laboratory Research Technician. The Economo Lab uses cutting edge experimental, analytical, and theoretical approaches to study how the brain controls movement using the mouse as a model system. Requirements and Expectations: We are seeking motivated individuals with strong organizational skills, attention to detail. Interest and experience with some of the following is highly desired: (1) maintenance of transgenic mouse colonies; (2) training animals on behavioral tasks; (3) overseeing lab safety permits and protocols; (4) purchasing equipment and supplies; (5) small-animal surgical procedures; (6) instrumentation development; (7) histology experiments; and (8) electrophysiological techniques. Applicants must have a science-related bachelor’s degree or expect one in the Spring of 2019 and prior experimental research experience in a biomedical field.
