A position is available within the Meditation Research Program (Principal Investigator [PI]: Matthew D. Sacchet, Ph.D.; website:) at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Our research is in affiliation with the Department of Psychiatry and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and is focused on developing a scientific understanding of advanced meditation (skills, states, stages, and transformations related to mastery and continued practice of meditation). Responsibilities: These include (1) collecting and organizing patient data; (2) maintaining records and databases; (3) using software programs for data analysis, graph generation, and reports; (4) assisting with recruiting patients for research; (5) obtaining patient study data from medical records, physicians, etc.; (6) conducting library searches; (7) verifying accuracy of study forms; (8) updating study forms per protocol; (9) documenting patient visits and procedures; (9) assisting with regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures; (10) assisting with interviewing study subjects; (11) administering and scoring questionnaires; (12) providing explanation of study and obtains informed consent from subjects; (13) performing study procedures; (14) assisting with study regulatory submissions; (15) writing consent forms; (15) verifying subject inclusion/exclusion criteria; and performing administrative support duties. Requirements: Skills/Abilities/Competencies: (1) experience with data science, computer programming, and computational modeling is desirable, though not required; (2) high attention to detail; (3) excellent organizational skills; (4) excellent ability to follow directions; (5) excellent communication skills; (6) working knowledge of research; and (7) ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for other team members and research subjects.  Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience: New graduates may be considered for the position outlined above. Value will be placed on proven experience with research and commitment to science.
