Research Assistant Position: Neuroimaging of Pain and Neuroinflammation

The main objective of the Pain and Neuroinflammation Imaging Laboratory is to study brain mechanisms of human chronic pain conditions using advanced imaging modalities such as Positron Emission Tomography/Magnetic Resonance Imaging (PET/MRI). Responsibilities: Assist Clinical Research Coordinators with participant recruitment (e.g., phone screening, sending out pre-screening surveys) and study visits: (1) data collection (e.g., brain imaging, behavioral data); (2) data entry and quality control and assurance; (3) processing biospecimen (e.g., blood, saliva, urine); (4) assist with data analysis and regulatory requirements; and (5) assist with other miscellaneous laboratory tasks (e.g., freezer inventory, managing the lab website, help with purchases). Requirements and Expectations: Requirements: (1) minimum 8 hours/week, ideally at least 12 hours/week; and (2) full academic year commitment, to start ASAP. Expectations: (1) attention to detail; (2) professionalism and mature demeanor; and (3) strong communication skills, sense of initiative, and motivation. Additional Information: This is an unpaid, in-person position. The location is at 149 Thirteenth St, Charlestown, MA 02129.
