Research Assistant Position: Time Use and Wellbeing / Wellbeing and Productivity in the Workplace / Technology and the Workplace / Future of Work

Our lab investigates the associations between time, money, and happiness, broadly construed. In our current program of research, we are working with together in part with leading technology companies to understand how hybrid employees’ social interactions at work explain their well-being and work-related outcomes. Responsibilities: The research assistant will be expected to support (1) logistics support for one-time cross-sectional surveys fielded on popular crowdsourcing platforms (e.g., Prolific, MTurk); (2) logistics support for intensive longitudinal designs wherein respondents are pinged multiple times a day to report on their thoughts, feelings and behavior; These respondents will be recruited from popular crowdsourcing platforms; and to (3) assist in the design and presentation of survey instruments; and (4) assist in the implementation of data management and analysis. Requirements and Expectations: (1) Research assistants should ideally work at least 8-10/hours each week. (2) Research assistants must reply to respondent communication promptly (e.g., latest within 3-4 hours of receiving a query). (3) Research assistants must be well organized and eager to learn the application of new digital tools on the fly. (4) Must ideally possess an excellent communication ability, an eagerness to learn advanced statistical methods and an ability to learn quickly. Additional Information: This position is open for course credit including but not limited to Psychology 910R and MBB90r. This would be a virtual position with the opportunity to have meetings with Professor Whillans and Postdoctoral Research Associate Sumer Vaid in person.
