Research Assistant Position: Violence Prevention Programs

The Settings for Early Education and Development (SEED) lab at the Harvard Graduate School of Education is currently seeking undergraduate researchers to volunteer for a project investigating the “core” or effective components of violence prevention programs. The aim of this project is to inform the design of interventions that promote positive parenting and prevent violence against children early in life. In this position, students will gain experience on the science of early childhood development, on the content, design, and evidence of effectiveness of violence prevention programs, and on research methods. Responsibilities: These include searching for literature, reviewing literature, analyzing data, and writing reports. Requirements and Expectations: (1) A commitment to volunteering at least 8 hours per week during the spring semester; (2) flexible scheduling; (3) self-motivation, attention to detail, and passion for research with children. Additional Information: Jorge Cuartas is the lead researcher for this project, and the project is co-supervised by Prof. Dana McCoy.
