A research coordinator is needed for federally funded projects to study neural function associated with cognition and learning in typically developing children and children with developmental language disorders. The projects involve the recording and analysis of Event Related Potentials (ERPs) extracted from EEG recorded from the scalp, and the administration and analysis of cognitive and language tests. Technical skills to support data analysis are of major importance. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (1) ERP signal processing and data analysis using Excel, MATLAB, and SPSS/R; (2) ERP and behavioral data collection; (3) training and providing technical support for lab personnel; and (4) additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: conducting literature reviews, organizing and maintaining databases, behavioral and electrophysiological data collection, recruitment of participants, managing of IRB protocols. Requirements and Expectations: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or social science/education field required. The candidate must have experience with MATLAB and Excel coding, and with statistical analysis. Previous research experience with ERP research is preferred. Relevant coursework in psychology or neuroscience, and statistics, is desired. Prior experience with database management software (e.g. RedCap), and Eprime software for task design is also helpful. The candidate must be self-motivated, independent, mature and able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment. This position will provide invaluable experience for anyone interested in pursuing graduate study in the fields of communication sciences and disorders, medicine, experimental psychology, educational psychology or cognitive neuroscience. Skills, Abilitiees, Competencies required: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to work independently and in a team. Preferred skills include: coding in MATLAB and excel, signal processing, eye-tracking data analysis, statistical analysis using SPSS or R, Excel. No research experience is required.
