The Computational Cognitive Development Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education is looking for a contractor to help with the completion and launch of a mobile app for research on human learning via parent-child interactions. The successful applicant will help with the completion and launch of an app that is currently in late alpha build. Responsibilities: The basic functions of the app are in place, but final work is required to test reliability, compatibility with multiple phones and OSes, and move from placeholder assets to a user-friendly interface. You will be working under the supervision of the programmer who has done the development up to this point, who is also a research lead on the project. The work can be done remotely. Requirements: Required experience: (1) experience with mobile app development in the Flutter framework using Dart; and (2) experience developing mobile apps that use a REST API to communicate with a server. Preferred experience: (1) experience implementing a Flutter-based app on both Android and iOS; (2) experience launching apps on the Android and iOS app stores; (3) familiarity with regulatory and technical requirements around securing research data; and (4) familiarity with configuring apps for localization into multiple language. Additional Information: We are looking to hire as soon as possible and anticipate the work can be completed with approximately 30-40 hours of commitment at a negotiable rate. This project would be ideal for a student looking for additional experience bringing computer science skills to MBB questions. To Apply: Please use this form to submit your materials. (posted 1/2025)
