Summer 2022 (remote work)

As the intersection of law and neuroscience rapidly evolves, the Harvard MGH Center for Law, Brain & Behavior seeks to hire full-time, paid Research Associates and Undergraduate Research Assistants for the summer 2022 academic term (June - August 2022). Research Associates and Research Assistants will play an integral role in exciting Center initiatives concerning the developing brain, the aging brain, and many additional topics. Current undergraduates and law school students are eligible for the Research Assistant positions. About the Harvard MGH Center for Law, Brain & Behavior: The Center for Law, Brain & Behavior (http://clbb.mgh.harvard.edu) puts the most accurate and actionable neuroscience in the hands of judges, lawyers, policymakers and journalists—people who shape the standards and practices of our legal system and affect its impact on people’s lives. We work to make the legal system more effective and more just for all those affected by the law. Though the brain and the law are both complex, our work is quite simple. We provide expert training, tools and counsel, helping members of the legal community understand and apply the most relevant brain science to the cases, courtroom procedures and policies they influence. CLBB supports a wide range of actors across the legal ecosystem, including judges, lawyers, standard-setting authorities, case workers, pretrial administrators, parole and enforcement agents, and financial planners. We also support those working across the media landscape who can accurately inform the public about the brain, human behavior and the justice system. The Center is led by accomplished legal and medical experts—practitioners, researchers and thought leaders—based at Harvard Law School, Mass General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and other leading institutions of learning. Additional Information: Compensation will be based on experience, and start/end dates are flexible. Summer RAs must be available for at least 10 weeks of the summer to be eligible. This is a REMOTE (virtual) internship. Research Associates and Research Assistants will report to Dr. Kinscherff; will work with CLBB Co-Directors Dr. Judith Edersheim and Dr. Bruce Price, as well as with CLBB affiliated faculty in both law and neuroscience; and will support research in the Project on Law and Applied Neuroscience, a joint program with the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics at Harvard Law School. All inquiries should be sent to CLBB Project Manager, Emily Rehmet at erehmet@mgh.harvard.edu. To Apply: Apply at https://clbb.mgh.harvard.edu/get-involved-opportunities/apply-summer-2022-research-assistants/. Applications will be reviewed starting on February 1, and on a rolling basis thereafter. (posted 2/2022)
