My students and I study the mechanisms through which emotional and social factors influence judgment and decision making. We take an interdisciplinary approach to these topics, drawing primarily on psychology and economics to examine emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and biological systems. We are especially interested in ways that discoveries about how the mind works can improve policy formation and reformation.
